04/07/04 - Audio of a different kind is also required, to help 3NE celebrate its 50 years on air? Do you have any audio from 1954? It may be a grab of The Queens Royal visit or of Footscray's grand final victory? Do you know of any in existence? The year is 1954 we are after, can you help?

now".......in anticipation Nova kicking off?

01/07/04 - Australia’s new voice-over portal, Ausvoice.com has been selected to provide the female half of the new image of Ann Arbor’s 107.1 FM. The Clear Channel station’s PD Rob Walker contacted Ausvoice.com and selected a short list, eventually deciding Krista Brindal of The River FM, Ipswich was the right sound. 30/06/04 - MMM Brisbane are on the hunt for a new breaky buddy for hosts Fatcat and Marto. Over the next few weeks a number of people will be joining them on-air.This week it's Sarah Robinson - who's normally part of B105's Hot Tin Roof late Tuesday night and Saturday mornings. While on MMM they're still taking calls from listeners asking "how the station can be different" from anything else on Brisbane radio. A number of callers have been asking for more classic rock.

Allan will always be remembered for his coverage of the Granville train disaster along with stints at 2UE, 2GB, 4BH to name a few.

28/06/04 - Well he took his time in getting there but Jason Staveley has touched down at Nova 919's Adelaide. First mentioned here some months ago Jason had been in the UK  at Vibe 101. The former Austereo lad is the PD at the latest Nova which currently is still in test mode.

27/06/04 - We were recently contacted about 'Easy Listening 1467 Mildura and its signal booming into Melbourne's North and Western suburbs. Upon checking out the former 3MA signal could be heard clear as a bell in the Suburbs some 450  KM's plus away.

27/06/04 - 6PR's Graham 'Smokey' Dawson is very upset by comments made by ABC Coodabeen Champions along with football callers Drew Morphett and Dan Lonergan. It relates to some light hearted comments in typical Coodabeen fashion made in reference to Dawson. Lawyers have been brought in and we could see a hefty cash settlement of up to $50,000.

It's expected they'll re-launch with a similar format to MMM Adelaide.NOVA 106.9 is tipped to be on-air in December.

25/06/04 - K Rock 95.5 breakfast is yet again looking for a new voice. This week has seen anchor Pat Panetta move to mornings, although he has reportedly resigned, whilst Daryl Reader has stepped into breakfast with the recently joined comedian Vic Plume, who had been co-hosting with Pat. Vic Plume had only recently replaced Peta Leslie. This follows a genuine handful of presenters including Ronnie Stanton who have all been part of the stations breakfast over the last 12 months.

24/06/04 - 6PR can't afford to fall any further in its all important breakfast and morning slots. The gap between 6IX and 6PR has now narrowed from  2.5 points to 0.5. 6PR rated 6.8 this survey.

24/06/04 - Some months ago we mentioned DCL was looking at changing their name. Well that has moved a step closer now with a proposal to call the company Pacific Star Network now being put forward. For more on the changes More here .

22/06/04 - A week is a longtime in radio so can you imagine what 48 years equates towards? For one legend it is long enough. 22/06/04 -Ratings are in across the nation, check out how your station performed Melbourne Sydney Adelaide Brisbane  Perth For further news on the ratings check out our FULL WRAP HERE

20/06/04 -What a delight to listen to RPH 1179 Melbourne on Sunday afternoon. Listeners were treated to a great afternoon of radio with Gary Mac, Artie Stevens along with John Blackman and Jane Holmes hosting the RPH Appeal. The friendly banter brought more than a smile to the dial.  The target for the RPH Appeal is $80,000 and all donations over $2 are tax deductible. Donations are still being accepted on the following number 1800 060 992.

20/06/04 - A certain tracky dack wearing radio person is very interested in the price Mac Bank has paid for RG, could he be looking to sell if the DMG deal falls over?

20/06/04 - Now with a different Macquarie, Macquarie Bank who recently puchased. RG Capital are widely tipped to snap up DMG's regional network. Some are saying expect an announcement with in the next two weeks whilst others say the deal will come under close scrutiny and will be a little bit more difficult than the RG deal.

20/06/04 - Rumour has it that John Singleton's Macquarie is watching the performance of SEN1116 very closely. Although this was often mentioned when the station was broadcasting as 3AK we are told SINGO  may just sink a dollar or two into the station.

18/06/04 - Former CityFM, KIXFM and HITZ FM night time radio jock Glenn Hampson has returned to the airwaves on Melbourne community radio station 3RPP
FM. The www.3rpp.asn.au says: "Midnight to 4:00 am  - Overnight - Glenn Hampson" Where have the other announcers gone from these former stations ?
Glenn Hampson has demonstrated quality broadcast skills and strong attention to detail - so he's worth a listen !  3RPP is heard on 98.7 FM.

18/06/04 - Further to our item on Adelaide's Fresh FM we hear there is a new programming group in place. Listen out for big changes in the coming weeks. We have been told to expect a 'fresher' sound for the Rhythm of Adelaide's Youth.

17/06/04 - The RPH Print Radio Appeal is in full swing in Melbourne this week, culminating this Sunday with a program at 2:30pm featuring the legendary voice of Radio, former 3AK “Good Guy” Gary Mac. Guests mooted for the show include the Host of Coxy’s Big Break Geoff Cox, Network Ten News Anchor Mal Walden, 3MP’s Jane Holmes, John “Blackers” Blackman, Singer Samantha Sang (Emotion) and more. The target for the RPH Appeal is $80,000 and all donations over $2 are tax deductible. Donations to 1800 060 992

16/06/04 - What's going on at youth/dance station Fresh FM in Adelaide?  It seems many people have not been happy with the 'new direction' of the station in recent times resulting in the manager resigning this week...with
perhaps others to follow.  With the revamped Triple M already on air and Nova coming on line soon they need to get themselves in order or risk becoming a station everyone under 30 no longer listens to.

16/06/04 - Across the nation announcers and presenters are taking a mid year break in many varying markets. We hear 2UE fielded many a caller earlier this week wanting to know if Mike Williams had replaced Stan! (PERIOD)

16/06/04 - Once Macquarie Bank gets RG Capital there is no doubt they will chase other regional  operations the likes of Broadcast 0perations and the Ace Radio Network just to name 2 potential takeover  targets.

16/06/05 - Just what is Mix 101.1's game plan with the appointment of their new MD who we hear has never been a MD in any market! Being at the big end of town and in a highly competitive market you would think they might have tracked down the competition? Or are Mix thinking totally outside the square?

14/06/04 - Did not like  Austereo 's chances of living up to their  promise at the end of Big Brother last night. In Melbourne Jo Stanely reminded listeners to tune in bright and early to hear the FOX FM crew chat with the latest evictee.  The poor confused Merlin failed to mutter a word at his eviction, something to do with a protest for refugees. Pity he didn't gag himself prior to entering the Big Brother House!

12/06/04 - Yet more escapees from 3BA/Power FM Ballarat.  The newsreader has just pulled the pin, along with a sales rep, bring the tally of resignations over the past few months to a pretty impressive 7.

12/06/04 - Word is that SEN 1116 Melbourne are looking to setup repeaters across the state of Victoria on local mono FM transmitters.

12/06/04 - Although he is being feed across most states strong rumour  is that Mick Malloy's MMM deal might not be re-inked when it expires at year end.

08/06/04 - Veteran Victorian radio announcer Barry Goodear sadly has  passed away. Barry Goodear aged 80 passed away suddenly last Sunday.

08/06/04 - Sport 927's John Vertigan, currently on long service leave from the station, was reported to have celebrated his 49th anniversary in the radio industry in the company of an un-named lady friend on a romantic cruise around New York Harbour aboard the yacht, World Princess. John has been based in Chicago for the past three weeks and has been taking in the sights of Manhattan, Pheonix and rural midwest locations such as
Evansville, Louisville (home of the Kentucky Derby) and Lexington, Kentucky. It's reported that he had a reasonable winning day at Arlington Park races, Chicago last week. John returns to the Sport 927 racing desk on
Wednesday June 23.

08/06/04 - Interesting to hear Rob Hicks on 3MP promoting an upcoming 3MP sponsored food and wine show. Rob was last heard on 3AW doing an advertorial version of his long running Grape Expectations program.

07/06/04 - Food for thought? Could Singo launch Virgin radio on Foxtel and Austar?  With Sam Chisholm in charge of Foxtel one would have to ask if this option has been considered?

07/06/04 - Edge FM Wangaratta announcer Matt Hobbs is opting out of radio for a career in Real Estate.

07/06/04 - Word reaches us that 3AW news reader Sarah Pennycuik is returning to a position in Regional radio possibly Horsham based.

06/06/04 - Former Melbourne based (Mix101.1) Steve Speziale has joined 4BC as
News Director.

05/06/04 - Lee Sims is now doing 4BC weekend mid-dawns in place of the 2UE fed George Gibson.

05/06/04 - In Melbourne another radio station is broadcasting Saturday and Sunday AFL Football. The SEN folk could not get the AFL for the season - but
it appears that RADIO 2 with its SYDNEY football coverage of SWANS matches is beaming this coverage into Melbourne, even when Melbourne teams feature. RADIO 2 has the rights in SYDNEY not in Melbourne and It could be seen to unfair that SEN can't have the AFL when RADIO 2 can broadcast their Sydney coverage into Melbourne. Maybe SEN (and others party to AFL coverage) may get a little cheesed off !

03/06/04 - Daniel Smith from Hot FM Rockhampton's 'Smithy and Joh' brekky show has
been starring in a local television commercial in Rockhampton (airing on all three stations) promoting this year's Rocky Show.

03/06/04- Macquarie Bank's grab for RG Capital has prompted speculation they will also chase  DMG Regional Radio as its next big media asset. The outcome to something like this is scary yet a real possibility.

03/06/04 - John Vertigan celebrated 49 years in  radio  on the 30TH of May. John is the voice of Sport927 and is well respected by all in the industry.   We say well done JV as you enter your 50th year of broadcasting.

02/06/05 - Changes at Triple M Adelaide with Sam Mac moving to afternoons and Higgo taking on evenings. Triple M are also presenting a packaged Tough Love between noon and 1pm.

01/06/04 - Before the end of the financial year (June 30) expect more ownership
changes - this time on the Gold and Sunshine Coast - a cosy deal to
ensure national ad revenue for one and to stay within the law for another.
Already there has been board changes at one of parties to the deal.

01/06/04- After a week of OB's along the  Victorian coastline (from the 'wish I had not said that file') comes this quote from 3AW's Ernie Sigley ' Next week I will be broadcasting live from the toilet' . Ernie  is this in reference to what you speak?

01/06/04 - Interesting Action Indoor Sports have recently spent a number of dollars advertising their business on SEN1116. Some of the centres are even supporting SEN posters on their walls yet at least one of those centres has no idea where to find the station on the radio dial. All you will hear is FOX.
